Today I learnt about narrative, the story is
Secret and was written by Tim Winton. The content is divided into two parts.
Today I read the first part again. Then I read the second part and read it
three times and imagined, it's interesting and observable. I fond many
vocabularies that I don't know meaning but I can understand more when I opened
the meaning in the dictionary.

this summary of the first part of the story.
Kylie fells left out from her mother and
Fhilip's activities. She becomes interested in the chickens in the yard.
Somehow her secret helps her to feel lonely. She finds a second egg and then
finds out where others are being laid by an unhealthy-looking hen. Every day
Kylie saw another egg added to the nest up, sat on the fence and sharing the
secret with the hen. Kylie was forbidden to lift the lid and she was fascinated
by it. Some afternoon she sat with her photo album, turning pages and looking
across every now and then at that glinting lid. In all her photographs, there
was not one of her father and she missed her father.

The hen began sitting on ten eggs
and she sneaked it every day. One day Kylie began to lift the lid off the well.
Then in the afternoon she took her photo album and went down to the well. She
went down to the well every day to sit and think or to flick through the album.
Then, on night Kylie listened when Philip and her mother said together and she
wonders why her father and mother did not live together with her. Then Phillip
caught her down the well, he came down and dragged her put and hit her. Then
Kylie throws the chicks down the well and hits the hen and throws it down the
well. Finally, she cuts off her head from the special photo and throw it
through a hole of the window.

1. I feel sorry for Kylie because
she is pathetic, every day she feels lonely and missed her father.
2. I dislike Kylie's mother because she neglect and don't
take care her child.
3. I dislike Phillip because he heartless and don't kind
with Kylie.

I think three things are most important.
1. neglect = Neglecting can
make children lack warmth. The good parents out to take care your child close,
always observe behavior and give instruction when the children have the
problems. This many things will make a child not become to a problem child.
2. the need for security = Security is important with children very much.
Usually the children is very naughty so, parents must care them special for
prevent accident and injury.
3. loneliness = The idea and demand of adults and children are different, if
parents don't understand and not interest may made children are lonely. Parents
shouldn't abandon your children and should to do the activities together
always.

Discussing the story's symbols.
1. the eggs = it is a symbol of waiting. Kylie saw ten eggs
everyday and wondered what was happening in tomorrow so, she waited it.
2. the well = it is a symbol of the security place because she went down every
day. She can do everything that she think it was the secret of her so, she saw
the photos and put the chicks in the well.
3. the photos = it is the symbol of the last memories of Kylie because when she
missed her father she always look the photos and think about memories in the
past with her family.
4. Kylie's cutting of the photo = I think that she cuts her head from the special
photo because she don't need to live with her mother and stepfather. She hate
her stepfather because he hits her and replaced her father.
